JUNIOR ISIT

"I have been a consultant member for Junior ISIT since my third year of studies and have had the opportunity to carry out several types of missions: translation, proofreading and content creation. All stimulating, these missions have introduced me to different technical fields (waste recycling or online food trade, for example). I was able to enrich my vocabulary, refine my style and, above all, confront myself with professional requirements, proofreading and feedback from other consultant members. I recommend this experience to ISITists willing and eager to confront themselves smoothly with the world of work".

"Working as a Junior Consultant Member has really given me the opportunity to "get my hands dirty" as a translator with real customers. I was able to work on different translation assignments (technical or not), proofreading, and for different clients almost every time. I really appreciated this opportunity to take my training a little further in this area, as I want to be a freelance translator and my master's degree (SID) did not offer many opportunities to deepen my few basics. Today, I'm doing a final year internship with a video game translation company in Berlin, and I'm happy with the concrete experience that Junior ISIT has given me and I salute the unfailing professionalism of its office".

"I came to ISIT in M1 and became a Junior ISIT Consultant Member shortly afterwards, which allowed me to complete two assignments. The first was a translation mission from English to French, on a rather technical subject, and the second was a proofreading mission in English, on a rather general subject this time. Even if, at ISIT, we are very often brought to work in situations that are close to professional situations, it is sometimes difficult to project ourselves in a real professional environment and to detach ourselves from the academic aspect of our work. My missions for Junior ISIT have allowed me to place myself in this state of mind: contrary to what I had been used to until now, I no longer worked only for myself and to obtain a personal result or a mark, but for a very real client. Beyond the fact that I was able to put into practice the knowledge that I had acquired in class, my missions as a consultant at Junior ISIT have above all allowed me to develop the rigour and the interpersonal skills expected in professional situations!".
